Pedestrian struck by vehicle outside Pembroke Pines movie theater

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – On Saturday night in Pembroke Pines, a disturbing event was caught on camera in the city.

Onlookers saw a driver run over the pedestrian with their vehicle after the pedestrian had fallen in the parking lot of the AMC Pembroke Lakes 9 movie theater.

After receiving reports of an active shooter, customers of the cinema situated at 12085 Pines Boulevard were seen fleeing the building, according to the police.

According to the authorities, it turned out to be a bunch of teenagers bickering among themselves without any firearms present.

The driver of a 2014 Infiniti told the police that he did not see the pedestrian who was lying on the ground because of all the excitement that was going on around him.

The driver stayed at the scene of the accident and helped the police with their investigation, while the pedestrian who was hit by a car was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The authorities have not disclosed whether or not the motorist is going to be charged with anything.

Pembroke Pines police are requesting that anybody who may have information on the incident contact them.
