LCEC work to provide power to Pine Island and Matlacha

LEE COUNTY, Fla. — For the very first time after Hurricane Ian, crews from LCEC and Duke Energy are working together to provide power to Pine Island and Matlacha for the very first time.

When the electricity is eventually restored, the crews are requesting that the residents who live on the island be careful to switch off the main breakers in order to avoid any fires from breaking out.

As of Tuesday evening around nine o’clock, LCEC reports the following power outages:

  • Pine Island – 7,398
  • Sanibel Captiva – 10,946
  • North Fort Myers – 573
  • Cape Coral – 954

Lee County Sheriff’s Office says traffic is moving with minimal delays on Wednesday.
