Two suspects sought following an attack in West Palm Beach

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — A man was assaulted and seriously injured on Wednesday afternoon in the parking lot of a shopping center in West Palm Beach, according to the police. They are searching for two individuals in connection with the incident.

The incident happened shortly before 4 p.m. near the Publix parking lot in the 800 block of Southern Boulevard at the Southdale Shopping Center.

According to West Palm Beach police spokesperson Mike Jachles, the 49-year-old victim was stabbed, cut with a machete, and then hit with a baseball bat.

Jachles said that one of the suspects abandoned his blue Jeep in the parking lot and escaped on foot. The second suspect left the scene of the incident on foot.

The victim was transferred in serious condition to St. Mary’s Medical Center.
