Heavy police presence observed in Wilton Manors neighborhood

WILTON MANORS, Fla. – Late Thursday afternoon, in light of the considerable police presence in the area, residents of Wilton Manors were requested to stay away from the area between Northeast Ninth Avenue and Northeast 26th Street.

In a tweet, the Wilton Manors police department said that officers were working on a “police-related issue,” but they didn’t say what it was.

A police SWAT truck was seen outside Wilton Manors Dental on Northeast Ninth Avenue, just north of Wilton Boulevard.

The police also established a mobile command center.

According to witnesses, a man was locked inside the dentist’s practice.
