Cause of a home fire in Wilton Manors currently under investigation

Wilton Manors, Fla. – On Friday morning, fire rescue crews responded to a residence in Wilton Manors to put out a fire that had broken out there.

The fire started just before 5 o’clock in the morning at a single-story house on the 2100 block of Northeast 16th Avenue.

According to Stephen Gollan, who serves as the PIO for Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, when the units arrived, they saw substantial smoke and flames coming from the back of the residence.

According to Gollan, the residents of the home suffered from minor smoke inhalation, and some of the cats that lived there died.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
