Apple cuts iPhone 14 production due to COVID-19 restrictions in Zhengzhou

Apple issued a statement on Sunday confirming that it has temporarily limited production of the iPhone 14 due to restrictions imposed by COVID-19 at its primary assembly facility for the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, which is located in Zhengzhou, China.

Apple has said that the facility, which is operated by Foxconn, is running at substantially reduced capacity. It issued a warning that it would ship fewer units than usual, and that consumers who ordered devices would have to wait longer for delivery.

The warning from Apple increases the possibility that the company will sell fewer iPhones during the December quarter since the company is having problems producing enough to fulfill demand.

The company said that it continues to notice significant demand for the affected devices, which have higher starting prices than other iPhone models and range from 999 to 1099 dollars.
