After a highly contagious respiratory disease detection, three dog parks have been closed in Charlotte County

PUNTA GORDA, Florida — After a very contagious respiratory disease was found, a third dog park had to close.

The Hounds on Henry Dog Park will stay closed until Sunday, February 26. This was announced by the City of Punta Gorda.

The staff is taking safety measures to clean the public areas. The bacteria Bordetella is likely to blame for the spread of kennel cough.

This news came a few days after the same thing happened at another park in the area. But the other two dog parks in Charlotte County have been cleaned. Tomorrow, February 23, the Ann & Chuck Dever Regional Park will start to be used again.
