Coral Springs Redevelopment Agency approves $100,000 grant to support the opening of a new Paris Baguette café in the heart of the Cornerstone development

Coral Springs, Florida – A fresh new bakery experience is on its way to downtown Coral Springs, thanks in part to a $100,000 grant from the city’s Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). The popular café chain Paris Baguette will be opening a new location in the Cornerstone development, with construction expected to begin soon and doors set to open by early 2026.

The funding was approved this week as part of the CRA’s Commercial Property Enhancement Grant Program, which is designed to encourage private investment and boost revitalization efforts in key areas of the city. The new café will be located at 3326 University Drive, a central spot within the growing Cornerstone project.

Once completed, the café is projected to bring 25 to 30 new jobs to the community. The owner of the new franchise plans to invest approximately $862,000 to transform the raw commercial unit into a modern, upscale bakery. That build-out will include major infrastructure work such as new plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC installation, and the addition of a commercial kitchen. The space will also feature custom millwork, giving the café a unique, high-end look that fits in with the evolving style of downtown Coral Springs.

Redevelopment officials say this kind of partnership is exactly what the grant program is meant to support—businesses that not only fill vacant space but also contribute to the area’s long-term economic and aesthetic development.

Meanwhile, the CRA board also approved another local grant during the same meeting. Sakara Beauty & Med Spa, located at 9619 W. Sample Road, will receive $22,825 to help modernize and refresh its space. The total renovation project, which costs $45,650, will cover exterior signage, lighting, plumbing updates, demolition, cabinetry, and treatment stations.

“This type of investment is what we want to see in our community,” said redevelopment officials. “It’s not just about new businesses—it’s about creating spaces that people want to visit and spend time in.”

The Cornerstone development has become a key focus for Coral Springs’ long-term vision of a vibrant, walkable downtown. With retail, dining, entertainment, and residential components, it’s designed to be a destination—and the addition of a well-known bakery like Paris Baguette helps push that vision forward.

As construction moves forward and more businesses consider Coral Springs for their next location, city leaders hope these types of grants will continue to play a critical role in shaping a downtown that balances local charm with modern energy.
