Recent Coral Springs High graduate transforms viral TikTok chocolate craze into a thriving small business in South Florida

Coral Springs, Florida – Just a few months after walking across the stage at Coral Springs High School, 18-year-old Sienna Tang has already found her recipe for success — and it’s dipped in chocolate. What began as a simple experiment in her family’s kitchen has turned into a thriving small business that local cafés can’t stock fast enough.
Sienna’s inspiration came from the viral “Dubai chocolate” videos that spread rapidly on TikTok earlier this year. The luxurious treat, known for its pistachio filling and glossy chocolate coating, caught her attention, and she decided to give it a try herself. With her mom, Amanda Tang, by her side, the duo began crafting their own version of the candy. Amanda, a photographer and graphic designer with a love for cooking, encouraged her daughter’s creativity and taste for quality.
“We started giving it to friends and neighbors, and it just took off,” Sienna said.
Her chocolates remain true to the Dubai style — smooth chocolate shells filled with rich pistachio cream and a delicate layer of shredded filo for crunch — but she has also developed new flavors that are all her own. Today, Sienna’s Chocolate Company offers eight varieties, from the original pistachio to playful s’mores, and each batch has been met with growing demand.
The business began simply, with sales driven by word of mouth. Friends, neighbors, and family members couldn’t get enough, and before long, local coffee shops were asking to carry the treats. Since spring, the chocolates have been sold at Tarrazu Coffee Co. in Coconut Creek — where Sienna has worked as a barista since the café opened last year — and Adam & Joe’s Eatery in Fort Lauderdale.
“They’re so popular, we can’t keep them in stock,” Amanda said, noting that the chocolates are now produced in a commercial kitchen space inside Tarrazu Coffee Co. “It’s turned into a real business.”
Born and raised in Coconut Creek, Sienna’s local roots run deep. She attended Coconut Creek Elementary, Lyons Creek Middle School, and graduated from Coral Springs High earlier this year. Now, she is preparing for the next chapter — moving to Orlando to attend Valencia College, where she will study art and design. While she’s away, Amanda plans to keep the chocolate business running locally, with Sienna returning on weekends to lend a hand when she can.
“This was a passion project,” Sienna said. “We love making them. And people really love eating them.”
For Tarrazu Coffee Co., the partnership has been a sweet success. Co-owner Jeff Marder says the chocolates are a customer favorite and one of the shop’s fastest-selling items. “They sell out in just a few days every time we get a new batch,” Marder said.
What makes Sienna’s story so remarkable is not only her early business success but also her ability to turn a fleeting online trend into something sustainable and locally beloved. While social media often creates viral moments that fade within weeks, her chocolates have found staying power through consistent quality, creative flavor combinations, and strong community support.
From a high school graduate with a box of ingredients in her kitchen to a small business owner supplying two bustling cafés, Sienna’s journey shows how quickly passion can transform into opportunity. And if the steady stream of customers and rapid sellouts are any sign, this is just the beginning of her sweet story.
