Chai Center in Coral Springs announces construction of its expanded sanctuary and new community facility will be completed by November

Coral Springs, Florida – A long-anticipated chapter for the Chai Center Chabad in Coral Springs is finally approaching its finish line. The congregation announced this week that construction of its new and expanded facility is on track to be completed by the middle of November, giving the community a larger spiritual home and additional amenities that have been years in the making.

The synagogue, located at 5761 Coral Ridge Drive in The Shoppes at Heron Lakes, has undergone a major transformation from its earlier form as a restaurant into what leaders hope will become a centerpiece for Jewish life in the area. Once work is finished, the center will feature a larger sanctuary, a new ark, and expanded gathering spaces. One of the highlights of the project is the addition of the city’s newest mikvah, a ritual bath that holds deep significance in Jewish tradition.

In a message shared with members on social media, the congregation expressed excitement over the progress. “We can’t wait to welcome you into this stunning new space,” the flyer read, offering a glimpse of the joy felt among leaders and congregants alike.

The timing of the completion holds particular importance. Leaders said they hope the community will be able to gather inside the expanded sanctuary in time for the upcoming High Holidays, the most sacred period on the Jewish calendar. If all goes according to plan, the center will not only host High Holiday services but also mark the milestone with a community-wide celebration and a Torah completion ceremony.

The journey to this point has been a long one. Founded in 2005 by Rabbi Hershy and Chanie Bronstein, the Chai Center began as a small congregation and gradually grew into a central hub for Jewish families in northwest Coral Springs and neighboring Parkland. Over the years, the community’s needs outgrew the original facility, prompting plans for an expansion that would provide both functional space and a deeper sense of permanence.

Members and supporters have watched the progress with anticipation, seeing in the new facility not just bricks and mortar but an investment in the future of Jewish life in the region. The promise of more room for services, educational programs, and community events has been welcomed by families who have been part of the center’s journey for nearly two decades.

Once completed, the new sanctuary is expected to accommodate more worshippers and provide a space designed with both tradition and modern needs in mind. The addition of the mikvah is seen as another significant step, offering a resource that many in the community have long hoped for.

As November approaches, all eyes are on the final phase of construction. For Rabbi Bronstein, his family, and the growing congregation, the expanded Chai Center represents not just a building project but the realization of a vision that has been guiding the community since its earliest days.

With excitement building, the community is preparing to gather soon in a new space that will stand as both a spiritual anchor and a testament to years of dedication and growth.
