FBI takes lead in investigating Coral Springs bank robbery as nearby elementary school goes into temporary lockdown

Coral Springs, Florida – Authorities are investigating a bank robbery that occurred Monday morning at the Amerant Bank on University Drive in Coral Springs, prompting temporary lockdown measures at a nearby elementary school. The incident took place at 10:04 a.m., according to police reports, and has since drawn the attention of federal investigators.

Coral Springs police responded promptly to the scene at 1755 N. University Drive after receiving reports of the robbery. Officers worked to secure the area and coordinate with federal authorities as they began piecing together what happened. The FBI has taken the lead in the investigation, reflecting the seriousness of the crime and the need for specialized resources.

As a precautionary measure, police issued a code secure at Ramblewood Elementary School, located near the bank.
