Governor Ron DeSantis names Jeff Vahle president of Walt Disney World Resort to serve on University of Central Florida Board of Trustees

Tallahassee, Florida – Governor Ron DeSantis announced today the appointment of Jeff Vahle, President of Walt Disney World Resort, to the University of Central Florida (UCF) Board of Trustees. The appointment highlights the governor’s commitment to involving experienced business leaders in guiding Florida’s higher education institutions.

Vahle brings extensive leadership and operational expertise to UCF. As President of Walt Disney World Resort, he oversees one of the most visited and complex entertainment destinations in the world, managing large-scale operations, workforce development, and strategic planning. His experience in leading a major organization is expected to provide valuable insight and guidance to the UCF Board of Trustees as it navigates future growth and academic initiatives.

In addition to his role at Disney, Vahle has been actively involved in philanthropic and educational organizations. He currently serves on the Rollins College Board of Trustees and is a member of the Florida Council of 100, an organization of business leaders dedicated to advancing the state’s economic and educational priorities. Previously, he contributed to the Give Kids the World Board of Directors, supporting initiatives that help children with critical illnesses.

“This appointment brings a unique blend of leadership, business acumen, and community involvement to the University of Central Florida,” said Governor DeSantis. “Jeff Vahle’s extensive experience managing large-scale operations and his commitment to education will be a tremendous asset to the UCF Board of Trustees.”

The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate, which will review Vahle’s qualifications and formally approve the nomination. If confirmed, he will join other board members in shaping policies, guiding strategic decisions, and supporting the university’s mission to provide high-quality education and foster innovation.
