Coral Springs prepares to launch one point five million dollar road paving project for local neighborhoods and Westview Drive

Coral Springs, Florida – Residents in Coral Springs can expect smoother streets as city officials move forward with a major road paving project designed to improve driving conditions in several neighborhoods and along a busy corridor. The City Commission is set to consider awarding a $1.5 million contract for the project during its regular meeting on Wednesday.
The restoration and maintenance initiative targets roadways in the Kensington Glen and Beachwood Heights subdivisions, along with a stretch of Westview Drive running from Coral Ridge Drive to University Drive. According to city documents, the project will include milling and resurfacing, ensuring a long-lasting improvement to streets that have seen years of wear and tear.
City officials plan to fund the project using Broward County Transportation Surtax funds, a dedicated source intended to enhance road infrastructure throughout the county. The city’s public works and purchasing departments have recommended Weekley Asphalt Paving Inc., based in Pembroke Pines, as the contractor for the work.
While the exact start date for the paving project has not yet been confirmed, city documents indicate that once initiated, the work is expected to take approximately six and a half months to reach substantial completion. The project is part of Coral Springs’ ongoing efforts to maintain and upgrade its road network, addressing both safety and quality-of-life concerns for residents.
“This project is an important investment in our neighborhoods and key corridors,” said a city official involved in the planning. “By resurfacing these roads, we are improving travel safety, reducing vehicle wear and tear, and enhancing the overall experience for everyone driving in Coral Springs.”
The project reflects the city’s proactive approach to infrastructure management, aiming to minimize disruption while delivering durable results. Residents in the affected areas can anticipate construction activity in the coming months, and officials are expected to provide updates as the project moves forward.
By addressing road conditions in both residential subdivisions and main thoroughfares, Coral Springs continues to prioritize transportation infrastructure that supports the safety and convenience of its growing community. The road paving initiative represents a step toward ensuring that streets remain functional, safe, and welcoming for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.
With the Commission’s approval, work on Kensington Glen, Beachwood Heights, and Westview Drive could begin later this year, providing much-needed improvements that will benefit the city for years to come.
