Coral Springs spreads holiday cheer with tree lighting, festive activities, and a community parade for residents of all ages

Coral Springs, Florida – The holiday season is arriving early in Coral Springs, with city officials preparing for two festive events designed to bring the community together and spread holiday cheer. Residents can look forward to colorful lights, family-friendly activities, and a spirited parade celebrating the season.

The first of the two events, Light Up the Lawn, will take place at City Hall on December 6 from 5 to 9 p.m. The highlight of the evening will be the city hall tree lighting, as Santa himself makes a special appearance to help kick off the holiday festivities. In addition to the tree lighting, attendees can enjoy train rides through the event area, a snow zone perfect for children to play in, and a variety of snack vendors offering treats for everyone.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, Coral Springs police will be conducting a stuffed animal giveaway, while free cookies will be available for all guests. City officials have noted that there will not be an ice-skating rink, and they ask residents not to bring lawn chairs to ensure enough space for everyone to enjoy the event comfortably. Food trucks will be announced at a later date, and pets are welcome, provided owners keep their dogs on a leash.

Accessibility is also a priority for the city. Residents needing assistance due to a disability are encouraged to call 954-344-1111 or email the city at least five days prior to the event to make arrangements. Parking will be free in the City Hall garage, making it easier for families and community members to attend without concern for logistics.

Just a few days later, the city will continue the celebrations with its Holiday Parade on December 10 from 7 to 9 p.m. along Sample Road. The parade will feature local schools and community groups participating in this year’s theme, Parade of Cultures, highlighting the diverse traditions and heritage found within Coral Springs. Parade organizers have confirmed that all entries for the parade are now closed, meaning residents can look forward to a full and vibrant lineup of floats, performances, and marching groups representing the city’s rich cultural fabric.

From families enjoying train rides and snow zones to children excited to see Santa, and from free holiday treats to a colorful parade showcasing cultural diversity, the city is working to ensure this holiday season is memorable for everyone.

With so many activities planned, Coral Springs residents are encouraged to mark their calendars and take part in the festive celebrations. These annual traditions provide a chance for neighbors to come together, enjoy the lights, and celebrate the spirit of the season in a safe and welcoming environment.
