Life Time Fitness moves forward with plans for a resort style fitness and wellness center in Coral Springs

Coral Springs, Florida – The proposed Life Time Fitness project on Heron Bay Boulevard is advancing through the Coral Springs approval process, revealing more about the expansive amenities the national fitness chain plans to offer. The city’s architectural review committee is scheduled to review the project, a two-story, 87,750-square-foot facility, during an upcoming meeting on Tuesday.

According to documents submitted by attorneys representing Life Time Fitness, the facility is designed to be far more than “your typical gym or fitness facility.” The plans describe a resort-style fitness club featuring pools, spas, cafés, co-working spaces, and a variety of classes designed for all age groups, including both children and older adults.

City documents indicate that Life Time is seeking approval to provide a combination of traditional fitness services alongside medical services, child care, and professional office spaces. Plans also call for retail areas selling food, alcohol, and fitness-related products, creating a multifaceted environment that blends wellness, recreation, and lifestyle services under one roof.

Renderings submitted with the proposal show a sprawling, resort-like campus complete with at least three pools, six courts, and extensive landscaped areas, along with a large parking lot to accommodate members and visitors. The design emphasizes a lush, welcoming environment that aligns with Life Time’s branding of fitness combined with luxury and convenience.

The project is set to occupy 13 acres of land located on the border of Parkland and Coral Springs, near the site of the former Heron Bay Golf Course and Clubhouse. Its location provides ample space for the ambitious development while integrating into the surrounding community and offering convenient access to residents of both cities.

City officials and residents are closely watching the proposal as it moves through the review process. If approved, the facility would not only expand local fitness options but also introduce a wide range of health, wellness, and recreational services previously unavailable in the area. The mix of resort-style amenities, medical and professional offices, and spaces for dining and retail sets Life Time apart from standard fitness centers.

“Life Time Fitness is presenting a unique concept that merges traditional fitness offerings with lifestyle, wellness, and community spaces,” the project documents state. “The facility is intended to serve residents of all ages while promoting health, well-being, and social engagement in a single, integrated environment.”

The architectural review committee’s meeting will provide city planners, residents, and stakeholders the opportunity to weigh in on the project’s design, scale, and community impact. As Life Time Fitness pushes forward with its plans, Coral Springs may soon see the addition of a high-end fitness and wellness destination that reflects national trends in integrated health and lifestyle facilities.
