Coral Springs residents will soon be able to renew vehicle registrations at new Broward County kiosks located inside local Publix stores

Coral Springs, Florida – Coral Springs residents will soon have a faster, more convenient option for renewing their vehicle registrations with the rollout of new self-service kiosks across Broward County. Starting Wednesday, Jan. 22, the Broward County Tax Collector will launch the first wave of these kiosks, which are designed to allow residents to complete transactions in minutes without needing to visit a traditional office.

The kiosks will be installed at 10 Publix stores throughout the county, including the Coral Springs location at 1400 Coral Ridge Drive, as well as a location in Coconut Creek. Residents will be able to access the kiosks outside of normal business hours, providing flexibility for those with busy schedules or limited availability during the workweek.

“This initiative is part of our continued effort to make vehicle registration more accessible and efficient for Broward County residents,” officials said. The self-service kiosks reflect the first year of operational modernization for the tax collector’s office since it became a constitutional office, highlighting a broader focus on customer service and convenience.

While the kiosks offer quick service, not all vehicles are eligible for registration renewal at these sites. Eligible registrations are those that do not require a new license plate, do not have insurance, driver’s license, or toll suspensions, and do not require a Florida Certificate of Insurance or the IRS Heavy Vehicle Use Tax Form 2290.

Certain vehicles cannot be processed at the kiosks, including autonomous vehicles, boats, government vehicles, IRP registrations, mobile homes, National Guard license plates, personalized plates, and parking permits or placards. Residents are encouraged to check eligibility before visiting a kiosk to ensure a smooth experience.

The kiosks are part of the office’s broader “Serving with Excellence” mission, which emphasizes accessibility and customer-focused services. By providing convenient locations in community hubs like grocery stores, the office aims to reduce wait times and streamline routine transactions that often require time-consuming trips to traditional government offices.

Local residents have expressed optimism about the new kiosks. The convenience of being able to renew a registration during a grocery run or outside of standard office hours has the potential to make a significant difference in managing daily responsibilities.

The rollout in Coral Springs and Coconut Creek is just the beginning, and officials indicated that more locations may be added as the program expands. Residents looking to use the kiosks are encouraged to visit the Broward County Tax Collector’s website for detailed eligibility requirements and operational instructions.

This modernization initiative represents a significant step forward for Broward County’s vehicle registration services, combining technology with community convenience to better serve residents while maintaining accuracy and security in the registration process. For many Coral Springs drivers, the kiosks will provide a practical, time-saving option that keeps vehicle registration simple and accessible.
