Coral Springs will host a special water safety day at the Aquatic Complex to teach children and families life saving skills
Coral Springs, Florida – Coral Springs will host a special day dedicated to water safety this spring, giving local youth and their families the chance to learn important life-saving skills. The event, titled Water Safety Day, will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, at the Aquatic Complex, located at 12441 Royal Palm Boulevard. Admission is free for all attendees.
Officials said the day is designed to help families make their homes safer around water and to provide practical training in water safety. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in water safety lessons, learn how to prevent accidents, and practice CPR. These skills are intended to help reduce the risk of drownings and equip families with the knowledge to respond in emergencies.
In addition to educational activities, the event will feature music and prize drawings to create a festive and engaging atmosphere. City staff noted that these fun elements are meant to make learning about water safety enjoyable for children and adults alike.
Attendees will also be able to sign up for vouchers for future swim lessons, providing ongoing opportunities to build confidence and proficiency in the water. City officials emphasized that the program is part of a broader effort to encourage safe swimming practices throughout the community.
“The goal is to help prevent drownings and teach skills that can save lives,” city staff said, highlighting the importance of the initiative. By combining hands-on training with fun activities, the city hopes to reach a wide audience and make safety a priority in homes and pools across Coral Springs.
Families and residents interested in attending can contact the city for more information by calling 954-344-5934 or emailing [email protected]. Registration is also available online, ensuring that participants can secure a spot and plan to take full advantage of the day’s activities.
Water Safety Day is part of Coral Springs’ ongoing efforts to promote community health and safety, especially for children who are at higher risk around pools, lakes, and other bodies of water. The event underscores the city’s commitment to education, prevention, and preparedness, giving families the tools and knowledge needed to enjoy water activities safely.
Officials encourage everyone in the community to attend, learn, and have fun while gaining skills that could save lives.
