Popular Coral Springs Greek restaurant Hellenic suffers weekend vandalism with 10 windows smashed

Coral Springs, Florida – A beloved Coral Springs Greek restaurant, Hellenic, suffered significant vandalism over the weekend when 10 windows were smashed at its new location on West Atlantic Boulevard. The incident was discovered early Saturday morning by staff preparing for a scheduled baby shower.

“We arrived early to prep … and instead found shattered glass — 10 broken windows and a space we love turned upside down,” wrote Chef and owner Nikol Zarbalas in a social media post. Zarbalas, who recently relocated the restaurant from the Walk of Coral Springs to 10436 W. Atlantic Blvd., described the scene as shocking but emphasized resilience in the face of the attack.

The damage was extensive, with multiple windows shattered across the property, creating a visible disruption to the restaurant’s inviting interior. While the restaurant was not open at the time, the destruction left staff scrambling to clean up and secure the premises before the day’s scheduled event. Despite the setback, Zarbalas reassured the community with a message directed at those responsible: “And to whoever did this… you didn’t shatter us. You woke us up…We’re still here. And we’re not going anywhere.”

Coral Springs Police responded promptly to the scene, and authorities are reviewing nearby surveillance footage in an effort to identify the individual or individuals behind the vandalism. Details remain limited, as police could not immediately provide information about suspects or the estimated cost of the damage.

The incident has drawn attention from both residents and patrons of Hellenic, who have expressed support for the restaurant and its staff. The restaurant has long been a fixture in the Coral Springs dining scene, and the move to a larger, more modern location was intended to expand its services and accommodate community events.

Although the act of vandalism caused physical and emotional disruption, Zarbalas’ message underscored the restaurant’s commitment to the community and to continuing operations despite the setback. Staff quickly began efforts to repair and clean up the damage, demonstrating a determination to move forward.

As the investigation continues, residents and visitors alike are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any information that could assist law enforcement.

With a combination of quick police response, available surveillance footage, and the community’s backing, Hellenic is expected to recover and reopen fully, continuing to serve its patrons while reinforcing its presence as a staple of Coral Springs’ dining landscape.
