Manny Mair focuses on helping Coral Springs families build healthier habits after the New Year resolution rush

Coral Springs, Florida – For many, January brings a flood of ambitious fitness goals, gym memberships, and resolutions that often fade as quickly as they arrive. Manny Mair, founder of One to One Fitness in Coral Springs, has witnessed this cycle for decades, and he knows the real test of commitment begins once the initial excitement wears off.
“January is loud,” Mair said. “February is honest.”
For Mair, February has consistently proven to be the gym’s busiest month. By then, the rush of New Year resolutions has faded, and people begin seeking structure, accountability, and long-term guidance instead of quick fixes. “Showing up to a gym isn’t a plan,” he explained. “That’s what a lot of people figure out after a few weeks.”
Mair opened One to One Fitness in 1992 with a mission centered on individualized training. His approach is deeply influenced by his own athletic past. Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, Mair excelled in multiple sports before moving to the United States to compete in track and baseball. Those early experiences helped shape his disciplined, hands-on methodology for coaching, which continues to inform his programs today.
While Mair’s career once focused heavily on elite athletes, his attention has shifted over the years toward families and young athletes. “We’re seeing parents training with their kids,” he said. “Families who want fitness to be part of their lives year-round.” For Mair, helping families integrate healthy habits together is as rewarding as training professional competitors.
This fall, Mair helped organize the Soldier Rush in Parkland, an obstacle-style race that drew nearly 1,000 participants. The event raised awareness and support for veterans, first responders, and their families, highlighting Mair’s commitment to blending fitness with community engagement. For him, fitness extends beyond individual goals—it’s about connection, support, and resilience.
Even more than 30 years into his career, Mair remains deeply involved in coaching, program design, and mentoring his clients. He emphasizes the importance of realistic goal setting and accountability, particularly when the initial momentum of the New Year fades. “January is about hope,” he said. “February is about doing the work.” For many Coral Springs residents, that philosophy resonates as they move past fleeting resolutions and toward lasting change.

Mair believes the most meaningful progress occurs when fitness is integrated into daily life, not just pursued as a short-term objective. By encouraging families to train together, focus on proper routines, and support one another, he has created a space where commitment and community go hand in hand. His programs emphasize consistency, technique, and sustainable habits rather than extreme measures or quick results.
For those interested in taking the next step, Mair invites community members to explore One to One Fitness online, where information about programs, scheduling, and family-focused training is available.
As the new year continues, Mair hopes Coral Springs residents will embrace a healthier lifestyle that lasts far beyond January, using February as the true beginning of transformation. His message is simple: long-term success requires dedication, realistic planning, and support, especially when it comes to building healthier families and stronger communities.
“Showing up is just the start,” he said. “Doing the work is what changes lives.”
