Fatal wreck investigated in Lake County

DeLAND, Fla. – A fatal crash is under investigation in Lake County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The wreck was reported around 1:45 a.m. Friday on County Road 42 in Lake County near DeLand, which is in nearby Volusia County.

Westbound lanes of C.R. 42 were closed in the area, but the roadway was later reopened.

Details about the wreck have not been released.
