Pickup truck driver captured discharging a gun in Murray Hill on surveillance camera

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A video shows the driver of a white pickup truck going up to a red light at an intersection in the Murray Hill area of Jacksonville and discharging a gun out the window of the vehicle.

According to the individual who submitted the video, the incident took place on Monday morning at about 1:30 a.m. around the junction of Post and Hamilton streets. It is not known what led up to the act.

In the video, you can see two muzzle flashes coming from the handgun that the driver is using to shoot at the target. It seems that the gun was discharged in the direction of a house that is located on the corner.

At first glance, it seems as if the house may have been struck; however, dust can be seen flying up from the ground, which suggests that a dirt mound and plants in the front yard may have been hit.

The local who submitted the video said that he had heard the gunshots before seeing the footage on his security camera.

“I came out and looked at the fence. There are no holes in the fence or the house next door,” the man said. “He kind of shot behind my house and the neighbor’s house. All I can think now after looking at the video a few times is that he shot into the ground. It’s kind of high over here. So, I think he probably had a pistol in his seat, a new gun, maybe. Maybe he’s a little drunk or high and he decided to shoot a couple of rounds.”

There were no reports of any injuries.

If you have any information, the homeowner would appreciate it if you report it to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
