Five dead in apparent mass murder-suicide in Miami Lakes residence

Miami Lakes, Florida – Five people, consisting of two men and three women, were discovered dead in a Miami Lakes residence on Friday morning in what appeared to be a mass murder-suicide, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department.

The discovery was made at a home on Northwest 87 Court in Miami Lakes, following a 911 call from a family member who was seeking their relatives at the house. Public Information Officer Alvaro Zabaleta stated that when officers entered through the window, they discovered a person who had been shot dead, and as they went through the home, they found the other four bodies.

The investigation is ongoing, and it is not yet known how long the individuals have been deceased. Family members identified two of the victims as Yoanka Aguilar and Dhany Aguilar, a mother and her son. Some members of the family were said to have recently arrived from Cuba.

It is unclear what led to the tragic incident, but authorities are investigating. Police noted that a male victim who was found in one of the last bedrooms of the house appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

While the motive for the apparent mass murder-suicide remains unknown, authorities are expected to conduct a thorough investigation to determine what happened. The police have requested anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.

The news has shocked the local community, and many are mourning the loss of the five individuals.
