Coral Springs Charter girls’ cross country team earns spot in state championship after finishing fourth at regional meet

Coral Springs, Florida – The Coral Springs Charter girls’ cross country team is headed to the state championship after a strong showing at the 2A Region 4 Championship in Boca Raton. The Panthers finished in fourth place at South County Regional Park on November 14, earning their spot in the state meet in Tallahassee on November 22.

Coach Brantley Barr praised his team for their dedication and hard work throughout the season. He highlighted the motivation and commitment of each runner, noting that many athletes are already achieving personal bests. “We knew we were fit, and we were running against some good teams. We ran a good race and now we must prepare to run at a higher level,” Barr said, reflecting on the team’s performance and the challenge ahead.

The Panthers’ success was driven by standout performances from several top runners, including Sydney McDougall, Alyson Thomas, Lily Richardson, and Cecilia Kozlowski. Each of these athletes contributed to the team’s strong finish, helping Coral Springs Charter secure a place among the state’s best teams. Their effort and consistency throughout the race showcased the depth of talent on the roster and the collective determination of the squad.

Barr emphasized that qualifying for the state championship is not just a reward for talent but also for the effort and preparation that the team has put in over months of training.
