Coral Springs to host 5th Annual Public Safety Job Fair and Expo connecting job seekers with law enforcement and emergency agencies across Florida
Coral Springs, Florida – The City of Coral Springs is preparing to welcome job seekers, students, and career changers to one of its largest public safety recruitment events of the year. On Tuesday, April 21, the city will host the 5th Annual Public Safety Job Fair & Expo, a growing initiative designed to connect residents with careers in law enforcement, fire rescue, emergency medical services, and communications.
The event reflects a continued push by local agencies to strengthen staffing pipelines across essential public safety fields, while also giving the public a closer look at what these careers involve. For many attendees, it is expected to serve as both an introduction and a direct entry point into service-oriented professions.
The day will begin with a series of breakout sessions running from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. One of the most anticipated features is a “Chat with the Chiefs” panel, where fire chiefs from several major departments, including Fort Lauderdale, North Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, and the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department, will share insights about leadership, recruitment needs, and the evolving demands of emergency response work.
In addition to the panel discussion, participants will be able to attend practical sessions focused on career readiness. Representatives from the Coral Springs Police Department and Fort Lauderdale Police Department will lead discussions on interview strategies, hiring expectations, and tips for applicants hoping to stand out in a competitive field. Organizers say these sessions are designed to give attendees real-world guidance rather than general advice.
Following the morning programming, the main job fair and expo floor will open from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., transforming the venue into a large recruitment space. More than 40 agencies from across Florida are expected to participate, offering direct access to recruiters and hiring officials.
Among the organizations attending are the Coral Springs Police Department, Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department, the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and the Florida Department of Corrections. Each agency will be presenting information on open positions, training requirements, and career pathways.
The event will take place at the Coral Springs Gymnasium, located at 2501 Coral Springs Drive, and is open to the public. Admission is free, which organizers say is intended to encourage maximum participation from individuals at all stages of their career journey, whether they are recent graduates or experienced professionals considering a transition.
City officials note that the job fair has grown steadily since its inception, becoming a key annual event in the region’s public safety calendar. The combination of hands-on recruiter interaction and educational sessions has made it a practical resource for both employers and job seekers.
As demand for trained public safety professionals continues across Florida, events like this play an increasingly important role. They not only help fill vacancies but also build awareness of the skills, commitment, and preparation required to serve in emergency response roles.
For attendees, the day offers something simple but significant: a chance to ask questions directly, explore multiple career paths in one place, and potentially take the first step toward a long-term career in public service.
