Another Argentinian steakhouse prepares to bring fire-grilled dining and South American flavor to Coral Springs

Coral Springs, Florida – A new wave of South American flavor appears to be heading to Coral Springs, as another Argentinian steakhouse prepares to move into a long-empty restaurant space along North State Road 7.

A notice recently placed on the front entrance of the former Smith & Webster Restaurant & Bar location at 4372 N. State Road 7 simply reads, “Coming Soon — Argentinian Steakhouse.” Beyond that brief announcement, few details have surfaced. No official restaurant name has been revealed, and an opening timeline remains unclear.

Still, the sign alone has sparked curiosity among residents familiar with the busy shopping plaza near Target, where the corner restaurant space has remained dark for months.

The location was previously occupied by Smith & Webster, an upscale dining venture launched in late 2023 by restaurateur and social media food personality Starex Smith — widely recognized online as “The Hungry Black Man” — together with former NFL player Kayvon Webster. The restaurant arrived with considerable attention but ultimately closed after a relatively short run, leaving one of the plaza’s more visible dining spots vacant.

Now, another concept is preparing to take its place, and this time the focus appears to be firmly on Argentina’s famous steakhouse tradition.

The upcoming restaurant would become the second Argentinian steakhouse currently operating in Coral Springs, signaling what may be a growing appetite for the cuisine locally. The city recently welcomed The Knife at Coral Square Mall, a project that took more than two years to complete before finally opening its doors.

Known for its classic parrillada-style experience, The Knife specializes in meats grilled over open flames, paired with expansive salad offerings and a variety of South American-inspired dishes. Its arrival introduced many local diners to the distinctive flavors and dining customs tied to Argentinian barbecue culture.

Argentinian steakhouses have built a loyal following around their emphasis on high-quality cuts of beef and simple preparation techniques that let the flavor of the meat stand on its own. Common menu staples often include skirt steak, ribeye, sirloin strip steak, and chorizo sausage, frequently served alongside chimichurri, the herb-based sauce closely associated with Argentine cuisine.

The growing presence of these restaurants reflects a broader trend seen across South Florida, where international dining concepts continue expanding into suburban communities once dominated by more traditional chain establishments.

For now, many questions remain unanswered about the newest steakhouse planned for Coral Springs. But with signage already in place and construction activity expected to follow, residents may not have to wait long before another destination for fire-grilled meats officially joins the city’s restaurant scene.
