Coral Springs man accused of hiding firearm allegedly used in fatal shooting of 18-year-old faces evidence tampering charge as investigation continues

Coral Springs, Florida – A Coral Springs man is facing a serious evidence tampering charge after investigators say he concealed a firearm connected to the shooting death of an 18-year-old near an apartment complex pool area in the early morning hours.

According to the Coral Springs Police Department, 22-year-old T’vano Angelo Ashford Rolle of Coral Springs was arrested and charged after detectives alleged he hid the weapon used in a deadly shooting that left 18-year-old Khameran Jackson dead.

Jackson was found suffering from gunshot wounds around 2:50 a.m. near the 2500 block of Riverside Drive. Officers responding to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire arrived to find the teen lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound to his upper torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the first signs of trouble came when several callers reported hearing approximately six to seven gunshots near Riverside Drive. Shortly after, an Uber driver reportedly flagged down officers and directed them to the victim’s location inside the apartment complex area.

As officers secured the scene, investigators recovered shell casings from the pool deck. In a later and more unusual discovery, authorities said they also located a rifle submerged in the apartment complex pool, raising early questions about how the weapon ended up there.

Witness accounts and surveillance footage soon became central to the investigation. Detectives said multiple witnesses described seeing a man wearing a red shirt and carrying a backpack near the pool area shortly after the shooting occurred.

Investigators later identified that individual as Rolle, who lived in an apartment near the same 2500 block of Riverside Drive. Surveillance footage reviewed by detectives reportedly showed Rolle leaving his apartment around 3:30 a.m. while officers were still actively responding to the homicide scene below.

According to the police report, Rolle was seen looking down toward the police activity before quickly returning inside his apartment. Investigators allege that during this time he knowingly concealed the firearm used in the shooting by bringing it into his residence and hiding it despite being aware of an active criminal investigation.

The affidavit states that detectives made multiple attempts to contact Rolle through his mother before he eventually came out of the apartment and agreed to speak with investigators. Once questioned, police said Rolle initially denied any knowledge of the shooting and claimed he did not hear gunfire that night.

As questioning continued, detectives said Rolle later changed his account. He told investigators he had known Jackson for about two years and explained that Jackson had come to the apartment complex with another man after they had all visited a music studio earlier in the evening.

Rolle described a confrontation that allegedly began after Jackson and another man tried to leave with his gold Cuban-link chain after taking photos while at the community pool area. He claimed the situation escalated when the two men allegedly pulled firearms and pointed them at him, which he said led to an exchange of gunfire.

Police noted that Rolle admitted that after the shooting he ran back to his apartment and intentionally hid his firearm by placing it inside a backpack and storing it in a closet. Detectives later executed a search warrant on the apartment and said they recovered additional evidence tied to the investigation.

Authorities have not publicly detailed whether additional charges related to the shooting itself will be filed, but the current case focuses on the alleged concealment of evidence following the deadly incident.

Rolle was taken into custody and transported to the Broward County Main Jail, where he remains held without bond as the investigation continues.

The shooting has left the Riverside Drive community shaken, as residents try to understand how a late-night dispute at an apartment complex pool area escalated into a fatal encounter involving multiple firearms and a young victim’s death.

Investigators continue to piece together the timeline of events, relying on surveillance footage, witness statements, and physical evidence collected at the scene, including the recovered rifle and shell casings.

For now, the case remains active, with detectives working to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting and the actions that followed in its aftermath.
