Coral Springs Coconut Creek Chamber Education Foundation awards grants for innovative classroom projects
Coral Springs, Florida – The Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation is helping bring new ideas into local classrooms through its 2026 Education Foundation Micro-Grant Program, providing funding for innovative projects designed to improve learning experiences for students.
The foundation has awarded its first round of micro-grants to educators in Coral Springs and Coconut Creek, supporting classroom initiatives that encourage creativity, hands-on learning, and new approaches to education. The funded projects will give teachers additional resources to expand instruction beyond traditional classroom methods.
The educators receiving grants will be recognized during the Chamber’s Partners in Progress: Education Community Impact Luncheon on Thursday, Aug. 27. The event will bring together business leaders, educators, elected officials, and community partners to celebrate the teachers and the projects they are bringing to life.

The annual Micro-Grant Program is designed to support creative educational projects that provide students with unique learning opportunities. Through the funding, teachers can introduce new tools, activities, and experiences that encourage student participation and skill development.
This year’s grant recipients represent a wide range of educational areas, including science, technology, engineering, literacy, environmental awareness, communication support, and special education.
Among the funded projects is the Multisensory Speech Sound Lab at Park Springs Elementary School, which aims to support students through interactive learning methods focused on speech development.
Winston Park Elementary School received funding for its First Grade Robotics Lab: Learning Through Motorized LEGO Creations, a project designed to introduce younger students to robotics, engineering concepts, and problem-solving through hands-on activities.
At Coconut Creek K-8 Academy of Excellence, students will participate in Every Drop Counts: Water Conservation & Gardening for Student Innovation, a project focused on environmental science, sustainability, and learning about responsible water use.
Lyons Creek Middle School received support for Enhancing Communication for Non-Verbal & Limited Verbal Students, helping create additional learning opportunities for students who use alternative forms of communication.
Other funded initiatives include the ASD Sensory Room at Tradewinds Elementary School and the ASD Cluster project at Parkside Elementary School, both focused on supporting students with autism spectrum disorder through specialized educational environments.

Park Springs Elementary School was also awarded funding for Engineering Motion: Marble Roller Coaster STEM Challenge, which will allow students to explore engineering concepts through creative design and construction activities.
Lyons Creek Middle School’s Reading Heroes project will focus on literacy development, while Hunt Elementary School received funding for a playground project honoring the late Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer.
According to the Chamber, the selected projects reflect the diverse needs of students throughout the community and highlight educators’ efforts to create engaging and inclusive learning environments.
The Education Foundation Micro-Grant Program continues the Chamber’s commitment to strengthening partnerships between local businesses, schools, and community organizations. By investing directly in classroom projects, the program provides educators with additional resources to help students explore new ideas, develop important skills, and participate in memorable learning experiences.
