Teen fight escalates into alleged armed burglary as two Coral Springs women are arrested
Coral Springs, Florida – A confrontation that began as a reported fight between teenagers later escalated into an alleged armed burglary at a Coral Springs apartment, resulting in the arrests of two local women, according to police records.
The Coral Springs Police Department arrested Priscilla My Ngoc Vu, 29, and Julie Thi Nguyen, 39, both of Coral Springs, on charges of armed burglary of a dwelling with a dangerous weapon. Authorities say the incident involved a group that allegedly entered an occupied apartment while carrying what appeared to be a firearm.
According to an arrest report, officers responded on July 31 to a residence after a 911 caller reported that multiple people were trying to force their way into an apartment. While the caller remained on the phone with emergency dispatchers, investigators said the group broke through the locked front door and entered the residence.
Police records state that the individuals who entered the apartment allegedly pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the occupants and also displayed a silver wrench while making threats. The victims told investigators they believed they were facing a real weapon, which caused them to fear for their safety.
The arrest affidavits for Vu and Nguyen indicate that the incident was connected to an earlier dispute involving two juveniles. According to investigators, the initial fight ended and the individuals involved went their separate ways. About an hour later, one of the juveniles allegedly returned to the apartment with her mother, Nguyen, her mother’s girlfriend, Vu, and two additional individuals who were identified in the report.
Because those two individuals were believed to be juveniles and were not listed in available arrest records, their identities were not released.
Investigators said the group went to the third-floor apartment and began knocking and banging on the door. When the people inside did not open the door, police allege that a male member of the group kicked the front door, causing it to break away from its hinges.
According to the report, several people then entered the apartment while one victim attempted to prevent them from moving farther inside the residence.
Police documents describe a chaotic scene inside the apartment, with one woman who had been sleeping at the time reportedly waking up after hearing the door being forced open. Investigators said she saw the confrontation as it unfolded before the group eventually left the apartment.
After the group exited, police said the same male suspect displayed what the victims believed was a handgun. Detectives later determined that the weapon was actually a replica airsoft pistol equipped with a light and laser attachment. However, investigators said it was used in a way that made the victims believe it was a real firearm during the incident.

The male suspect was later detained by police at a Burger King restaurant located at 10494 West Sample Road. During an interview with investigators, he allegedly admitted that he kicked in the apartment door while carrying the replica firearm, according to the arrest affidavit.
The report stated that another suspected juvenile with the same last name had not been taken into custody when the documents were completed.
Vu and Nguyen were arrested and transported to the Broward County Main Jail. The case remains under investigation as authorities continue reviewing the events surrounding the alleged burglary and the earlier dispute that police say led to the confrontation.
Officials have not announced additional arrests beyond those listed in the available records. The investigation is ongoing, and further details may be released as the legal process continues.
