Coral Springs, Florida – When a Coral Springs woman apparently crashed her car into an SUV in Lighthouse Point over the weekend, passers-by pulled her out as flames engulfed her car, police said.

Raymond, who lived in Turtle Run, died along with the driver of the SUV, Justin M. Waldron, 38, of Lighthouse Point, after a crash at NE 49 Street and North Federal Highway early Saturday morning, according to Broward Sheriff’s Office.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Raymond was traveling southbound in her 2017 Kia Optima on North Federal Highway when she struck the 2011 Hyundai Tuscon driven by Waldron.
According to investigators, Waldron’s SUV appears to have been stopped for the traffic light. He was facing southbound on North Federal Highway at NE 49 Street when Raymond’s vehicle struck him in a rear-end collision.
The crash caused Raymond’s car to become fully engulfed in fire and Waldron’s SUV to become partially engulfed, BSO said.
Bystanders on the scene removed Raymond from her car. She was rush to Broward Health North where she died. Waldron died on the scene.
BSO traffic homicide detectives are investigating the cause of the deadly crash.
