Police allegedly found cocaine in his socks and shoes after his van hit a utility pole

Coral Springs, Florida –A 30-year-old man struck a utility pole in his van on Wiles Road earlier this month.
According to a police report, Coral Springs police officers suspected he was on drugs. The report says the man, Beville Quintal, of Coral Springs, was stumbling with his words and having trouble walking.
During the Sept. 17 crash, the report made no mention of alcohol or other drugs being found in his Honda Odyssey van.
During the investigation, paramedics took him to Broward Health Coral Springs to treat a cut over his eye from the crash.
According to the report, while getting medical care, Quintal went to the bathroom two times, and a police officer was assigned to watch him go through Quintal’s shoes and socks. There, the officer found two capsules filled with a white substance. A test later revealed it was cocaine, the report said.
Quintal was charged with six offenses, including driving under the influence and cocaine possession.
According to the report, he also had a warrant for his arrest for failing to pay $100 in child support. Court records show he is out on a $1,600 bond.
