Mediterranean restaurant in Coral Springs permanently closed

Coral Springs, Florida – After 15 years of work, a high-end Mediterranean restaurant in Coral Springs has closed.
Owners of Falafel Bistro & Wine Bar announced Sunday on social media that they “made the difficult decision” to permanently close Falafel Bistro & Wine Bar in The Shoppes at Heron Lakes at 5677 Coral Ridge Drive.
“It has been a tough couple of years for us all, including everyone in the restaurant industry, and we have been unable to find kitchen staff that would allow us to reopen,” Ilan Cohen and his wife, Lauren, wrote on their restaurant’s Facebook page.
The restaurant, known for tapas, salads, and hummus plates, opened in 2007 by Ilan Cohen, a “self-taught” chef who began his career in Jerusalem decades ago.
According to the website of DVASH, a Boca Raton restaurant operated by the family, remains open.
According to estimates from the National Restaurant Association, roughly 80,000 restaurants have temporarily or permanently closed since the start of the pandemic.
“Thank you all for your love and support for the last 15 years. It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve your families and our wonderful community and have had you make our restaurant your second home,” the owners of Falafel Bistro & Wine Bar wrote on social media.
