Man arrested after body of partially nude woman found in Miami-Dade alley; victim ID’ed

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man was arrested early Wednesday morning on accusations that he shot a woman in the head Tuesday, killing her.

Ron Adam Donaldson, 43, of Miami Beach, faces one count of second-degree murder. Police said the victim’s murder was captured on surveillance video.

According to Detective Angel Rodriguez, who is also a spokesman for the police department, officers responded to the area of Northwest 26th Avenue and 95th Street just before 7:10 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a report about a body found in an alleyway.

Donaldson’s arrest report states that he and the victim arrived to the area, which is known for prostitution activity, just after 6:30 a.m. in a gray sedan that is registered to the suspect.

Police said the car was parked in the alleyway for about 26 minutes before the front passenger door opened and the victim, who was partially nude, fell out of the car.

Donaldson, who also appeared to be nude, then exited the car from the passenger side, grabbed the victim as she tried to stand up and shot her once in the head, the arrest report stated.

He then fled the scene in his car, authorities said.

Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers later identified the victim as Wendy Daniel.

“From what I saw looking over there before police got there and put the tarp, it was a young lady — possibly a Hispanic lady. She had on no bottom, and she only had on a top,” a woman who works nearby told Local 10 News.

The woman said a customer first alerted her to the shooting just before 7 a.m.

“I’m thinking that it happened between 6:30 and 7,” she said. “A young gentleman that was on his way to work came in and told me that he heard a young lady scream, and he heard the gunfire.”

The woman said the man said he heard one shot.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the arrest report, Donaldson was later identified and found at his apartment in Miami Beach. He was transported to Miami-Dade Police headquarters for questioning, but he invoked his right to remain silent until he is able to obtain an attorney.

Donaldson is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.

He faced a judge Wednesday, allowing his attorney to speak on his behalf. The judge found probable cause to hold him without bond.
