Authorities investigating after discovering a dead man inside a Riverside home

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation after a man in his seventies was discovered dead in a Riverside residence on Wednesday.

A welfare check was conducted on a residence in the 1200 block of Federica Place at 4:19 p.m., according to the police.

Officers allegedly entered the residence and discovered an unresponsive male inside. The individual was eventually declared dead by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.

The individual was said to be in his seventies.

Police said they are now examining it as an undetermined death, although there may be suspicious circumstances surrounding it.

According to authorities, the man was last seen or heard from by a friend on Tuesday. They contacted the police when they were unable to reach him.
