Fire crews sent in response to a fire at Publix in North Collier

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.  — The Fire Department was sent to the scene after receiving reports of smoke and flames coming from the Publix at 1089 N. Collier Blvd. on Marco Island.

The fire that broke out in the produce section was contained to a refrigerated display case thanks to a “quick thinking” employee, as reported by the Marco Island Fire Dept.

The firefighters have determined that the fire has been put out, and they have started the ventilation procedures.

The store will remain closed till further notice.
