Potential threat at Gulf Coast High School as schools in Collier County get ready to reopen

NAPLES, Fla. — An investigation led to the arrest of a man in Naples after online threats of violence were made at Gulf Coast High School. This news comes one day before the expected reopening of schools in Collier County, which were closed because of Hurricane Ian.

A former student at Gulf Coast High School named Nathaniel Anderson, who is now 20 years old, has been charged with the felony offense of breaching Florida Statute 836.10.

Even though the Collier County Sheriff’s Office didn’t think the threat was real, there will be more people working security at GCHS tomorrow.
