Man undergoes surgery for gunshot wounds sustained in a Moncrief area shooting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, a man who was shot many times in the Moncrief neighborhood on Monday night is now having surgery as a result of his injuries.

The incident reportedly took place in the 1500 block of Golf Forest Drive at 7:10 p.m., according to the police.

The first call that officers received was about a walk-in patient at a neighboring hospital. According to the police, the patient suffered a number of gunshot wounds. Through further investigation, they were able to find the exact location of the crime scene.

According to the statements made by JSO, the victim and another person were sitting in a parked car when two unknown people approached them and began firing shots. According to the authorities, the suspects escaped on foot.
