Tamarac Fire Rescue teams are at the scene of a crash that left several people injured Monday afternoon

TAMARAC, Florida – Monday afternoon, several cars were involved in a serious accident, and Tamarac Fire Rescue crews went to the scene.

First responders say that during the crash near 7300 W. McNab Road, more than one person was thrown from their car.

At 2:10 p.m., Sky 10 was flying over the scene where a white car was flipped over on its side.

Several other cars were nearby, and the area was blocked off with police tape.

Officials from Fire Rescue confirmed that several people, including a child, were hurt.

The road was blocked, so Air Rescue was called to the scene.

The victims were taken to Broward Health Medical Center, the officials said.

It is likely that the road in the area will be closed for several hours.

At this point, nobody knows what caused the crash.
