Broward Health Coral Springs expands cardiac services with advanced cath lab

Broward Health Coral Springs has recently increased its advanced cardiac care services by introducing a second cardiac catheterization lab.

This latest 4,102-square-foot bi-plane cath lab has the capability to capture two sets of images at the same time with only one contrast injection.

According to Mohamed Osman, the interventional cardiologist and medical director of the interventional cardiology program at Broward Health Coral Springs, the hospital is excited to have such advanced technology so that patients can have quick access to the latest interventional and vascular services closer to their home.

The new expanded cath lab offers state-of-the-art procedures, such as electrophysiology mapping and imaging systems, which are used to guide transcatheter cardiac ablation procedures. Also, the lab offers interventional neurovascular services, which are advanced procedures to diagnose and treat neurologically related vascular conditions.

Broward Health Coral Springs is part of Broward Health, a nationally recognized health system in South Florida, which is one of the largest public healthcare systems in the US. The health system offers a broad range of health specialties and compassionate personalized care across four hospitals and over 50 health centers and physician practices. For the past 85 years, Broward Health has been a pioneer in advanced healthcare and has a robust graduate education program and international services.
