Three South Florida students receive scholarships from Tropical Financial Credit Union

Coral Springs, Florida – In an announcement made by Tropical Financial Credit Union, three commendable students in South Florida have been chosen as beneficiaries of scholarship awards, amounting to a total of $10,000. The credit union has been conducting this yearly scholarship scheme for over ten years, intended to assist local students in their pursuit of advanced education.

One of this year’s top recipients is Sarah Salazar, a student who has chosen to be educated at home and resides in Coral Springs. Sarah has been awarded the grand scholarship of $5,000. Displaying an exemplary 4.1 GPA and having devoted numerous hours to community service, Sarah intends to specialize in Studio Arts and Business Administration for her university studies. She is currently deliberating between Palm Beach Atlantic University and Florida Atlantic University for her further education.

A second recipient, Quinn Feerick-Hillenbrand, who also calls Coral Springs home, has received one of two scholarships worth $2,500 each. After his graduation from Plantation High School, Quinn is set to attend Saint Louis University in Missouri with a major in aviation. His participation in the Aerospace Technologies and Design program has already provided him with a substantial practical experience, including the chance to work with NASA in the design, construction, and launching of experimental rockets.

Finally, the recipient of the $2,500 non-traditional scholarship from Tropical Financial Credit Union is Nathan Adler from Miami. Nathan, while juggling a full-time job and family duties, is currently enrolled at Covenant Theological Seminary, working towards earning a Master of Divinity degree.

The scholarship application process required the students to provide essays, detailing their personal and educational goals and illustrating how Tropical Financial has contributed or could contribute to their financial objectives. The selection committee also took into account the candidates’ community involvement, charitable activities, and extracurricular engagements.

Tropical Financial Credit Union, a non-profit financial organization, maintains its headquarters in Miramar and has a branch in Coral Springs at 8947 W Atlantic Blvd.
