Free concerts taking place in South Florida this week

In South Florida, we are blessed with a thriving music scene that stretches across multiple genres, from Afro-Cuban funk to classical, country, folk, rock, and even heavy metal. This vibrant musical landscape is complemented by numerous tribute bands that recreate the melodies that define various generations.

What further amplifies our fortune is the availability of free concerts across Palm Beach, Miami-Dade, and Broward counties, allowing us to indulge in the wealth of musical talent without any expense.

In the upcoming week, an array of outdoor (and a few indoor) concerts, free of charge, are scheduled.

In Miami-Dade, the line-up for the week commences on Friday, June 30, 2023, with a free concert featuring Cortadito, Nestor Torres, and DJ LeSpam. This event will take place from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Normandy Village Fountain. The same night, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) will host Jazz at MOCA from 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm. Later in the week, on Sunday, July 2, the Ocean Drive Promenade Music Series will be held from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at the Ocean Drive Promenade, Miami Beach. On Thursday, July 6, the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) will be the venue for Free Thursdays at PAMM Music, which will feature music by Tim Watson and Friends, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Meanwhile, in Broward, the week’s free concerts commence on Friday, June 30, with live entertainment at Dania Pointe from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, followed by free music at Gulfstream in Hallandale from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, and free live music at the Hollywood beach bandshell and Starlight Musicals in Fort Lauderdale, both from 7:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Other free concerts will continue at these venues throughout the week, including Family Sundays at Dania Pointe, Cultural Saturdays at Dania Pointe, and the July Fourth celebration at Las Olas Oceanside Park.

In Palm Beach County, the free concerts for the week begin on Friday, June 30, with Live Music @ The Square: Top 40, Reggae, Acoustic, WPB, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at The Square, West Palm Beach, and Summer in the City: Movie Soundtracks performed by The Symphonia Boca at 7:30 pm at Mizner Park in Boca. Other highlights include the BBQ, Brews & Blues event at Heart & Soul Park, West Palm Beach, the All America Fest at Old School Square, Delray, and the Food Truck & Music Series at the Wellington Amphitheater. These events culminate in the Sunset Concert Series on Thursday, July 6, from 7:00 pm at Old School Square, Delray.
