Coral Springs Police Department hosts touchless Shred-A-Thon event

Coral Springs, Florida – In an effort to address identity theft concerns and ensure the safe disposal of documents, the Coral Springs Police Department is organizing a free Shred-A-Thon event with touchless features.

This event will take place on Saturday, September 16, between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. at the Sportsplex. The initiative is in collaboration with Shred Monkeys.

Participants are allowed to bring up to four cardboard boxes or reusable containers per vehicle at no cost. If residents wish to bring up to three more boxes, a donation of $5 per box is required, with proceeds going towards the Police Explorer Program.

Participants are advised that plastic or garbage bags are not permissible. It’s imperative that boxes do not contain any non-paper items, such as plastic or metal rings, binders, or clamps.

Containers should not exceed the dimensions of 15x12x10 inches and should be positioned either in the trunk or an easily accessible location in the vehicle.

Given the event operates on a first come, first served basis, participation is limited. Once the designated capacity is met, no additional documents will be processed. Attendees must ensure their driver’s licenses are prominently displayed on the front dashboard upon reaching the venue.

If faced with adverse weather conditions, organizers will reschedule the event. For further inquiries, the public can contact 954-346-1311. The venue, the Sportsplex, is situated at 2575 Sportsplex Drive.
