New Property owner abandons demolition plans for former Bru’s Room in Coral Springs
Coral Springs, Florida – The new owner, linked to the well-known restaurant chain Kaluz, has decided against demolishing the former Bru’s Room site in Coral Springs.
This week, city officials announced the cancellation of the demolition permit for the property located at 1000 University Drive.
The owner of the building has chosen to keep the structure, and the surrounding fence was taken down on November 26.
No new permits or plans have been presented to the city at this time.
Authorities indicate that the property owner seems to be continuing to refine their vision for the location.
LORI SPRINGS LLC., a company associated with Kaluz Restaurant, has acquired the former Bru’s Room, which shut its doors earlier this year.
The site was sold in February for $5.15 million, according to property records.
According to its website, Kaluz has locations in Fort Lauderdale, Plantation, and Wellington.
TAPinto Coral Springs contacted Kaluz to ask about their intentions for the Coral Springs property, but the company did not provide a response.
In addition, the location of another shuttered Bru’s Room in Coconut Creek has been purchased by a group associated with Kaluz.
Property records from Broward County reveal that Kalik Coconut LLC, located at the same address as Kaluz’s corporate office in Fort Lauderdale, acquired the property for $5.5 million on June 24.
Currently, there are no announcements regarding plans for the Coconut Creek location.
