Among the places closing due to bankruptcy are Coral Springs’ Big Lots on University Drive
Coral Springs, Florida – As part of a reorganization effort in the face of financial difficulties and bankruptcy proceedings, Big Lots, the chain retailer for consumers on a tight budget, has announced the closing of its Coral Springs branch along with other locations nationwide.
As it gets ready to close, the Coral Springs store at 725 University Drive has already started its going-out-of-business sale, which will feature steep discounts.
According to the corporation, the closures follow Big Lots’ bankruptcy filing as it attempts to improve its financial standing.
Big Lots has identified increased competition, changing consumer behavior, and dwindling sales as the main causes of its financial difficulties.
When the Columbus, Ohio-based company filed for bankruptcy protection in September, it employed over 27,700 people and had over 1,300 locations across 48 states.
