Coral Springs Charter School shows modern multi-story building on city-owned land

Coral Springs, Florida – The city of Coral Springs recently received preliminary renderings of the future Coral Springs Charter School facility from the architectural firm it engaged in designing it.

It will be located on undeveloped city property between the Coral Springs Police Department and the Coral Springs Gym, which is located at 2501 Coral Springs Drive.

The Harvard Jolly PBK firm’s designs depict a multi-story structure with a parking lot situated between it and the gym.

Student parking would be located on an existing lot between soccer fields 1 and 2 to the north and Mullins Park fields 6 and 7 to the south.

Staff parking would be located in another existing lot off of Coral Springs Drive.

The entrances for pickup and drop-off would be off Royal Palm Boulevard. Parents would get off on Coral Springs Drive traveling south after turning onto NW 102 Avenue and navigating an interior road between the sports fields.

The images depict a contemporary, two-story interior hall and lounge area with lots of seats for students to socialize, adjacent vending machines, and bright, open areas.

From the early stages of design and community participation to the roughly 21-month building period, the project would take roughly three years to finish, according to the firm’s plan.

The project is just getting started, and city authorities stressed that they will get feedback from locals, leaders, and others.

According to city spokesperson Lindsey Steinberg, “these plans are not final.” “Before finalization, our commission, sports leagues, and the community would be involved in any conceptual design plans.”

For years, there has been discussion about transferring the city’s A-rated charter school for grades 6–12.
As the construction of the city’s “four corners” at University Drive and Sample Road got underway in earnest, those discussions gained momentum.

The present address of the school is 3205 N. University Drive.

The new campus, according to Coral Springs officials, will provide “increased safety and security, modernized classrooms and facilities, larger capacity for enrollment, and easier access to nearby city-owned facilities,” such as the city’s police and fire departments, the Coral Springs Center for the Arts, and Mullins Park fields.
