Success of Coral Springs Charter and the best wrestlers in Taravella

Coral Springs, Florida – Coral Springs Charter made an impact in a number of disciplines when high school athletics continued after the holiday break.

Justen Morgan scored 31 points to help the Panthers upset Monsignor Pace High School 51-49 in their two games in the Legacy Sunshine State Championship.

Morgan stated, “We always come out slow, and teams come slow, and teams step on us.” “We find it difficult to simply return to the game. I thought we had a good amount of energy when we left.

The Panthers then defeated Gulf Coast 60-54, led by 42 points from Camden Fearon.
Under coach Alex Groothius, the Panthers are at 7-4 on the season. After ten years as a Panthers coach, he is back in Coral Springs. The next game for CSC is scheduled for Tuesday, January 7 at 7:30 p.m. against Monarch High School.

Coral Springs High School defeated Gainesville High School 68-61, going 1-1 in their two Sunshine State Explosion games. Before the squad lost their second game against Newton High School, Alex Pierre Louis, who had recorded his 1,000th point in high school, contributed 27 points. In their subsequent game, the Colts lost to Victory Christian Academy 79-74. As they prepare to play St. Thomas Aquinas High School on Wednesday, January 8, they are currently 10-4 on the season.

In their last game, J.P. Taravella defeated Neumann High School 64-55, their lone victory. Barron Collier defeated them 81-72 and Port Charlotte High School defeated them 55-49 earlier in the competition. With a 5-6 record going into the new year, the Trojans’ next game is scheduled for January 7 at 7:30 p.m. against Pompano Beach High School.

Coral Glades participated in the Top of Class Tourney after winning four games in Las Vegas earlier this month. They prevailed on Friday, 75-57. Their upcoming game is scheduled for Tuesday, January 7 at 7 p.m. against Cooper City High School.

Coral Springs High School was the only girls’ team competing. Nethania Noel-Juene scored 16 points to help them upset American Heritage High School 41-30 after losing 45-40 to Palm Beach Gardens High School.

On Wednesday, January 8 at 6:30 p.m., the Lady Colts will take on St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

The Coral Springs Charter wrestling team spent the holiday season hosting their Panther invitational and competing in the Bobby Stanley Duals.

The Panthers defeated Charles W. Flanagan High School, North Miami, and Nova in the duals, going 3-6 overall. Elijah Perez and Preston Lindsay both had 8-1 records for the Panthers. Other winners were Andrew Ridge, Logan Bosworth, Brandon Hankerson, and Michael Streder.

According to head coach Eric Perez, “all of the wrestlers are beginning to understand and welcome the hard work and discipline needed to be successful in this sport.” “Our younger wrestlers are improving greatly and making quick development. This past weekend, we had five middle schoolers wrestle, and each one of them improved.

In the 144-pound event at the Panther Invite, Elijah Perez finished fourth, followed by Bryce Leao. The Panthers finished in eighth place and will travel to the District Duals on January 9; its players were Nathan Carlisle, Bosworth, Konner Sullivan, Bryce Spector, Katon Clark, Asher Daly, Xavier Mejas, Adrian Ramirez, and Jake Golden.

Jacob Rosen and Enzo Amado also competed against J.P. Taravella, and both of them won. Amir Sameen, Andrew Hines, and Caden Ankele finished first and second, respectively, behind Victor Dixon. The team, led by Jayden Pellerier, finished fourth overall.
