Students at Dania Beach Elementary make Valentine’s Day cards for veterans

Dania Beach, Florida – Some students in South Florida made Valentine’s Day cards for veterans.

On Friday morning before the holiday, Dania Beach Elementary School students made Valentine’s Day cards.

It was U.S. Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla., who recruited them for the yearly event.

“I told them, ‘You should see the smiles and joy that is on the faces of the veterans,” but you wouldn’t necessarily think that giving a Valentine’s Day card to someone you don’t know, and who you might not even meet, would brighten their day or their lives,” she added.

A few kids will accompany the lawmaker as she delivers the cards to the Miami VA Hospital on Valentine’s Day.
