A consultant is needed for plans for downtown gathering spaces by the Coral Springs Redevelopment Agency

Coral Springs, Florida – As the city works on its downtown development, the Coral Springs Community Redevelopment Agency is thinking about hiring a consultant to assess suggestions for enhancing gathering areas.

Members of the CRA board decided last week to enlist outside assistance in order to evaluate possible projects, such as landscaping improvements, programming for the city’s art promenade, and an amphitheater.

The consultant would assist with cost analysis, proposal prioritization, and decision-making.

We’ve sort of thrown out a lot of our projects. At a meeting last Monday, Kristi Bartlett, the city’s director of economic development, informed CRA members, “We’re not experts in that.”

Therefore, it would be very beneficial for us as staff if a consultant could come in and thoroughly examine our proposals, budget, and the costs of each of those projects before determining our priorities and determining how to expedite the process.

Bartlett also emphasized the necessity of financial viability.

“What are we able to afford? “What will provide the most value for your money and what will actually establish that downtown gathering area at the community gathering area that we frequently discussed,” she stated at the meeting.

In the vicinity of the intersection of University Drive and Sample Road, where downtown growth is concentrated, the consultant would offer suggestions based on the land and municipal resources that are now available.

Board members decided to start the process of finding candidates, although they did not talk about a precise budget for hiring a consultant or possible businesses for the position.
