Coral Springs upgrades Turtle Run Park with new playground, sports courts, and more

Coral Springs, Florida – Big changes are coming to Turtle Run Park in Coral Springs as the city moves forward with a $150,000 renovation project aimed at upgrading recreational spaces for residents of all ages.

The project, which is already underway, will bring significant improvements, including new tennis and pickleball courts, an upgraded playground, and an expanded field area for sports and outdoor activities. City officials are working in partnership with the School Board of Broward County to ensure that these enhancements will serve the community for years to come.

According to the city’s website, the first phase of construction has already begun. The park’s tennis courts are currently being resurfaced and will soon be transformed into three updated tennis courts along with six new pickleball courts. Seating is also being added around the courts to provide more comfort for spectators and players alike.

In addition to the court renovations, the park’s playground is receiving a much-needed upgrade. The previous structure has been removed, and a brand-new, interactive playground is set to take its place. While the playground remains temporarily closed during construction, city officials assure residents that the new design will offer an exciting and engaging space for children once it reopens.

One of the most anticipated aspects of the renovation is the expansion of the park’s field area. The additional green space will allow for a variety of activities, including soccer, football, and other recreational games. Sections of fencing around the field are also being replaced as part of the upgrades.

While the current renovations are well underway, the city has plans for a second phase of improvements, though final funding has yet to be secured. This future phase includes resurfacing the track with a rubberized material, refurbishing the handball courts, and preparing the interior track field for flag football. Additional seating will be added near the track, and plans are in place to create a direct access route from Forest Glen Middle School to Turtle Run Park.

The collaboration between Coral Springs and the Broward County School Board highlights a shared commitment to enhancing recreational spaces for the community. Once completed, these renovations will provide a modern, functional, and welcoming environment for residents to enjoy.

For now, residents are encouraged to stay updated on the progress and look forward to the exciting new amenities coming soon to Turtle Run Park.
