Coral Springs, Florida – After nearly three years of serving up Mexico City-style street tacos, Taco Real in Coral Springs has closed its doors, leaving a loyal group of customers heartbroken. The restaurant, which opened in July 2022, quickly became a local favorite for its palm-sized tacos made with fresh masa and packed with simple, yet authentic flavors that were a rarity in the area’s taco scene.
Founded by Luzmaria “Luz” Alatorre, a Mexico City native, Taco Real offered a taste of home for many who longed for true street food. Located at 10315 Sample Road, the small taquería gained a reputation for its hand-crafted tortillas, cooked onsite and served piping hot straight off the comal. Paired with fillings like slow-cooked carnitas, spicy chorizo, and marinated al pastor, Taco Real’s tacos stood out for their traditional, no-frills approach.
It wasn’t just the tacos that made Taco Real special—many customers found themselves returning for the rotating specials that showcased regional Mexican dishes rarely found outside of the country.
