Loraine Babaloo’s new salon, ProHairTextures, brings bold and transformative hair makeovers to Coral Springs

Coral Springs, Florida – Loraine Babaloo, a seasoned hairstylist with a passion for transforming lives through hair, has officially opened the doors to her new salon, ProHairTextures, in Coral Springs. After decades of honing her craft and mentoring aspiring stylists across the globe, Babaloo is eager to bring her unique flair and expertise to the local community. Located at 4641 State Road 7, ProHairTextures is already making waves in northwest Broward and southern Palm Beach counties.
The salon, which opened in May, is a stylish studio tucked inside a strip-mall. It offers much more than just hair services—it is a space where clients can feel heard, celebrated, and, of course, fabulously transformed. For Babaloo, it’s not just about cutting and coloring hair—it’s about building confidence and creating a positive impact in her clients’ lives.
“I’m very passionate about what I do,” said Babaloo. “Ever since I was in high school, I worked on my classmates. I love working on hair and making people feel good about themselves.”
Born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Babaloo’s journey into the world of hairstyling began at a young age. She owned her first salon in Jamaica for 10 years, building a reputation for her skill and creativity. In 2000, Babaloo moved to New York City, where she expanded her career in cosmetology by becoming a teacher at Empire Beauty Schools. She later brought her expertise to Florida, teaching in West Palm Beach, Lauderhill, and at Paul Mitchell’s beauty program.
But her passion for hairstyling never stopped. By day, Babaloo taught aspiring stylists the tricks of the trade. By night, she worked tirelessly with clients, perfecting hair extensions, color, and keratin treatments—often until 10 p.m. Her commitment to her craft is evident in her work, and her ability to balance teaching with client work allowed her to refine her skills and expand her knowledge.
“Cutting and coloring hair always felt natural to me,” Babaloo said, reflecting on her years of experience.
Now, with 35 years of hands-on experience and advanced training, Babaloo is channeling her expertise into her own business. At ProHairTextures, she offers a wide range of services, from hair extensions to keratin treatments to custom color. Her specialization in hair extensions—whether it’s tape-ins, sew-ins, microlinks, or wefted microlinks—allows her to tailor each service to the individual needs of her clients.
“Bring a picture,” she tells her clients. “And I’ll bring it to reality.”
Babaloo’s studio is not just a place for hair transformations but also a collaborative space with a team of talented professionals. Her assistant, additional stylists, and even a nail technician contribute to the welcoming environment. Babaloo’s oldest daughter helps manage the salon’s marketing efforts, while her 12-year-old daughter keeps her grounded as she juggles her busy career. Working six days a week, Babaloo remains fully dedicated to her clients and their needs.

When she’s not behind the chair, Babaloo is still committed to sharing her knowledge. She regularly holds hair extension training courses, designed for everyone from beginner stylists to salon owners. These hands-on courses provide real-world business advice, drawn from Babaloo’s extensive experience in the industry.
“Every client experience is custom-tailored,” Babaloo emphasized. “I want people to feel heard, feel beautiful, and leave with confidence. If your hair isn’t done well, you just don’t feel good.”
For Babaloo, styling hair goes far beyond the technical aspects of the job—it’s about connection. She sees herself not only as a stylist but also as a confidante for many of her clients. She listens to their stories, shares her own experiences, and works to give back in any way she can.
“I feel like a therapist sometimes,” Babaloo said. “People sit in the chair and open up. I listen, share what I’ve been through, and try to give back however I can.”
Her unique approach to hairstyling sets her apart from others in the field. Clients who walk into ProHairTextures know they will receive more than just a haircut—they will leave feeling renewed, empowered, and ready to take on the world. Whether it’s a subtle change or a bold transformation, Babaloo’s mission is clear: she’s here to take you “from drab to fab.”
As ProHairTextures continues to grow, it’s clear that Babaloo’s blend of artistry, education, and personal connection will make the salon a staple in the Coral Springs community for years to come. From her wealth of experience to her heart for helping others, Loraine Babaloo is certainly leaving a lasting mark on the beauty industry—one fabulous head of hair at a time.
